For almost four decades, the Galway International Arts Festival has been bridging artists and audiences together with remarkable results: in 2016, there were an astonishing number of performances, talks, and exhibitions that occurred within fourteen days at 26 venues. This event is highly regarded, as it attracted a total of 200,000 attendees during that time! In a small kitchen, a group of fledgling and experienced artists huddled together with the dream of launching an international-caliber festival that would showcase Irish artwork to the world.
