On March 25, 2023, Ashikaga will host its inaugural outdoor rock festival - ASHIKAGA FES - with performances from renowned artists and local musicians. This momentous event is proudly sponsored by the Youth Division of the Ashikaga Chamber of Commerce and Industry to celebrate this once-renowned city's vibrant music scene.
ASHIKAGA FES 2023 has been created to revitalize the city by drawing tourists from beyond the prefecture. Three years of coronavirus has significantly impacted living music activities in local venues. The project was spearheaded by Yuki Ishihara, chairman of Youth Group's "City Attraction Creation Committee" and proprietor at Ashikaga SOUNDHOUSE PICO (1 Ashikaga City Street). This ambitious event will bring life back into this gorgeous locale and see all it will produce!
This year, ASHIKAGA FES will occur at the Watarase River Riverbed North Multi-Purpose Square (2nd Street). With three stages and 17 bands that sing anime theme songs, in addition to local young talents who have collaborated with Mr. Ishihara, this festival promises an exciting lineup! Guests can enjoy delicious food and drinks throughout the event and participate in live painting or workshops. There's even a special DJ booth for those looking to get their groove on.
