Established in 1926, the Varna Summer International Music Festival is Bulgaria's oldest and most prestigious music festival. After the official opening of Varna's Sea Baths that year, stars such as Pancho Vladigerov and Dobri Hristov set out to create a celebration of music like never before seen throughout the country. This event soon became known as one of Europe's most prominent international music festivals.
