The International Music Festival Český Krumlov (Festival Krumlov) has been a celebrated event since its founding in 1992, showcasing the magical city of Český Krumlov—a UNESCO World Heritage site and European treasure! Every year during July and August, this international music festival enthralls audiences with four weeks of captivating performances in the heart of South Bohemia's historic jewel.
Festival Krumlov is a musical extravaganza that stretches from the 15th to the 21st century. You will be treated to an incredible musical selection featuring styles such as classical, jazz, folk, musicals, and opera - to name a few! An undisputed highlight of any visit includes performances in the oldest Baroque theater on earth. This unique experience offers attendees an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy the experimental Baroque performance.
The 32nd edition of the Festival Krumlov will offer audiences 18 excellent opportunities to experience music in some of the most awe-inspiring places. With 11 performances at traditional and uncommon venues, such as beneath the night sky in Summer Riding Hall, inside Prádelna Cultural Centre or Egon Schiele Art Center, or even inside a synagogue, this festival has it all! This festival boasts an impressive selection ranging from chamber pieces, symphonies, and choral works to Spanish zarzuelas and opera arias!
This festival will boast some of the world's most renowned Czech and international artists and musicians, including Alexander Melnikov (pianist), Charles Castronovo (tenor), Zuzana Markova & Simona Šaturová (sopranos), Rafael Aguirre (guitarist) as well as Vadim Gluzman & Josef Špaček( violinists).
