Since its inception in 1995, the World Village Festival has emerged as a prominent annual gathering of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), political influencers, and festival attendees. Its beginnings reach back to the 1980s when Vaasa Association for Developing Countries conceived a novel way to publicize their civil society initiatives - thus giving life to the Market of Possibilities which is still celebrated around Finland today.
