The Rolling Saône music festival is the perfect destination for anyone looking to explore a vibrant and exciting location - Gray in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. From Dijon, Besançon, Dole, Langres or Vesoul? You're only an equal distance away from this magical event!
2007 marked the inaugural edition of what has become an acclaimed music festival organized by Rolling Saône and Gray. The mission of this celebration is to give regional artists a platform for expressing their creative ideas through diverse programming and notable performers.
In May 2005, Rolling Saône Festival took place in the parking lot of Gray's youth hostel, and over two to three hundred people attended. This event inspired its organizers to revive it annually and eventually establish what is now known as The Rolling Saône Festival. Even though the festival itself didn't officially recognize these first few editions, they laid the foundation for future events that would occur every mid-May at Sauzay Hall, with more significant acts headlining each year - such as Wampas group in 2007!
The Rolling Saône Festival has been steadily growing for the past eight years. From 2012 on, two stages were erected under a single hall to enable bands to perform back and forth. In 2013, Tryo performed one day before the festival officially began turning it into a three-day event. The festival installed an enormous LED screen to enhance visitors' experience in 2017, providing them with even more entertainment! Nowadays, over 7 thousand attendees join this fantastic show in optimal conditions every night, ensuring everyone is having fun!
Mark your calendars - the 2023 Rolling Saône Festival will arrive on May 18th-20th in Gray! Don't miss out on this incredible event that celebrates music and culture.
