The year 2023 marks the fifth anniversary of the Stadt ohne Meer Festival, a wild concept that has become an annual tradition. On June 9th and 10th, 2023, Gießen will be filled with indie, rock, and pop music lovers for this two-day festival! What began as a simple gathering of friends has evolved into a spectacular event that routinely sells out to 5,000 people every year.
In 2018, Stadt ohne Meer Festival launched for the first time. It is derived from OK KID's song of the same name, which has gained millions of streams and is an ode to their hometown. The festival mainly spotlights young local talent who have yet to reach a broad audience. However, famous national artists are also showcased at this event to offer these up-and-coming musicians more exposure.
