After being awestruck by a Holi festival in India, one of the founders of 'Holi Festivals Of Colours' had the inspired notion of bringing this vibrant celebration to Europe for the first time.
Holi Festival of Colours, first launched in 2012, has since been hosted in more than 20 cities globally. Würzburg was fortunate enough to be one of them! Who knows what the future holds? Perhaps it will return again in 2023 with DJs spinning their beats and putting everyone in an energetic mood for a night full of electro-minimal house music. Every hour is marked by 'Big Throw,' where all attendees throw colored powder that paints the sky a breathtaking spectrum—just like a rainbow!
Every year, the people of India commemorate the beginning of spring with an ancient tradition: the Holi Festival. This occasion is marked by the release of colorful powder, known as Gulal, into the sky to celebrate the symbolic victory over evil and the beginning of a new season. Although Festival Of Colours may not carry as much spiritual meaning as India's original version, it features equally as much playfulness and enthusiasm!
