Experience the unique magic of Festival de Ballade 2023 on July 7th-9th at Kopje van Kanada, a three-day celebration held in a fantastic location. Located between the Terneuzen lock complex and the entrance to Western Scheldt, this outer dyke will be surrounded by gigantic containers passing close to Antwerp as well as marine traffic through locks. All that scenery, combined with incredible music from across genres, makes for an extraordinary festival experience!
What started as a one-time reunion performance of the renowned Zeeuws-Vlaanderen band, The Lamaketta's, quickly began to draw attention at Festival de Ballade 2017. Thousands of music lovers gathered for this three-day extravaganza and went wild with excitement! In just a few short years after its inception, Festival de Ballade has grown into an anticipated event in Zeeland, attracting more than 10,000 attendees each year.
The team at De Ballade has truly outdone themselves in terms of decorating the site. With the 'Ballade Safari' van driving around the grounds, a miniature smokers' tent and bars named after Terneuzen's most celebrated historical cafes - Snugly and Flamingo Bar. Families especially will enjoy plenty to do for kids, including bouncy castles, climbing frames shaped as ships, and many food trucks offering various options!
On Fridays and Saturdays, the focus is on music, while Sunday afternoon becomes a family affair. Attendees can enjoy musical performances, street theatre, and activities for kids all in one place. The tent will be utilized if weather conditions become unfavorable to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable throughout their experience.
