Castle Party Festival is one of Europe's most renowned and biggest gothic rock music festivals, held annually from July to August at Bolków Castle. Boasting a wide variety of musical talent from across the continent, this is an unforgettable event that music lovers and festivalgoers can't miss!
The inaugural Castle Party Festival was held in 1994 at Grodziec Castle and welcomed about 300 attendees to enjoy performances from five budding bands. The following year, 1995, saw an increased crowd of roughly 1,000 people that grew each subsequent year. Consequently, the event had to move locations from its original home at Grodziec castle to Bolków due to its overwhelming popularity among fans of the music genre!
A prestigious few emerged victorious at the Second-Fifth Edition of the Castle Party Festival: Battalion d'Amour, God's Bow, God's Own Medicine, Cold Swat, DeVIAN, and Lorien.
Each year, thousands of gothic rock and metal music enthusiasts and fans of electro-industrial genres from all over the world flock come to this four-day festival at a castle, from Poland to the Czech Republic, Russia to Slovakia, or the Netherlands to Hungary. People congregate to experience a night of wonder and excitement, continuing from the afternoon until dawn in nightclubs and outside.
When Castle Party Festival rolls around, the upper section of this majestic castle transforms into a bustling marketplace. Here you'll find an assortment of irresistible drinks and food, along with all sorts of accessories that will make any fan feel part of the subculture!
During the festival, it is common to witness goths dressed in various costumes, striking poses for pictures, and developing an atmosphere that feels like one constant masquerade. Professional photographers even sell photos taken during past editions of the festival! Additionally, bands with less related musical styles, such as Ścianka or Lech Janerka, were invited to perform at the festival.
