Rock na Bagnie festival is the modern incarnation of classic 80's festivals such as Jarocin and Róbrege. The idea for this event was sparked in 2009 by Piotr Znaniecki, a passionate environmentalist. Paweł Pogorzelski, then mayor of Zawady Commune, sought out an experienced organizer to put together a large-scale music festival in Podlasie which led him to Jacek Żędzian, who had been organizing underground concerts throughout Mońki over several years prior.
