Founded in 1998, SWR BARROSELAS METALFEST is one of Europe's oldest extreme music festivals. Since its inaugural event in the peaceful and quiet town of Barroselas, Portugal, this festival has featured two indoor stages for ticket holders and one outdoor stage open to all.
Over time it's been graced by some of heavy metal's greatest acts like Venom, Immortal, Kreator, Possessed, Sodom, Dying Fetus, Primordial, and Triptykon - just a few of many!
In 2023, the festival will return for four days. From April 27-30, get ready to rock to head-banging music from Triumph of Death, Profanatica, Gutalax, Pig Destroyer, Hideous Divinity, Gorod, and more!
