Founded in 1995, the International Nisville Jazz Festival has proudly upheld European values of multiculturalism and cultivated a refined musical taste among attendees. Celebrated as the most visited jazz festival in Southeast Europe for over two decades, it continues to be one of music lovers' favorites. There is much evidence to back up the validity of this statement, such as in a text about "Nisville - European Face Of Serbia" published by the European Union Magazine 'New Europe' in Brussels. Additionally, The Guardian supported this sentiment by saying Nishville was one of the ten best jazz festivals across Europe in its list!

Nisville Jazz Festival's primary events occur within the expansive Plateau of Nis Fortress, featuring two stages: Earth & Sky. International and local performers grace these stages with various genres - River, Open Air Hip Hop, Midnight Jazzdance Movie, and more - each free for audience enjoyment. Other activities include Jazz For Kids, Welcome Youth Stage, and Kristina's stage at the lively Jazz Museum!

The Nisville Jazz Festival's inception happened upon blending traditional jazz with worldwide ethno customs, particularly those from the Balkans. Except for more classical types of jazz, this fusion served as the core concept behind the entire event. In 2008, world-renowned jazz magazine American "Downbeat" reviewed the Nisville festival in great detail, praising it for its work to showcase both traditional music from the Balkans and a combination of styles inspired by America. As a result, Nisville has been instrumental in introducing Balkan music to an international audience and establishing it as a global trend.
