The 'Bluescazorla' International Blues Festival has been taking place since 1994 with the aim of bringing the essence of this musical style to all parts of Cazorla. On September 13, 1994, the festival was launched with the bands 'Caledonia Blues Band' and 'La Blues Band de Granada' performing in Santo Cristo Park. Despite humble beginnings, the festival has remained committed to showcasing a unique genre of music with a rich history.
For its tenth anniversary, the festival took a qualitative leap by incorporating three stages, which gave it an even more significant international boost. This move brought the blues closer to people by setting up three new stages in Plaza de Santa María, Parque del Santo Cristo, and Plaza de Toros.
The event features a wide variety of concerts by excellent Spanish and international groups and soloists, along with acoustic performances. It is held in three different venues: the BluesCazorla stage in the bullring, the Sennheiser stage in the Cristo Auditorium, and the Caledonia stage in Plaza de Santa María Square. Additionally, there are similar activities and exhibitions held in the Merced Theatre.
The annual Blues Cazorla festival, known as the most significant blues festival in the country, will feature several prominent artists in the genre, as well as some of Spain and Europe's finest bands. The intensive program will include over thirty bands, making it an exciting weekend for fans. The festival has become a popular event with a large number of attendees and is regarded as a standard by many fans in Europe.
