Holmfirth Festival of Folk emerged from the Holmfirth Folk Festival in 2005. Since then, it has become an exemplary community-oriented festival that draws a massive local crowd and 'folkies' who make their way across the nation to experience all sorts of folk festivals annually.
Every year at the start of May, the Holmfirth Festival of Folk celebrates and showcases traditional music, song, and dance. This celebration occurs on streets, in pubs, or any other suitable places that are quiet enough to play instruments or have a flat surface to dance.
Holmfirth Festival of Folk is almost entirely free for audiences, though donating to the collection buckets would be greatly appreciated! The only exceptions are the Old Bridge and Ceilidh concerts, which require tickets. These were created as an effort to monitor the number of attendees. While these may not be 'big name' acts, you can trust that every event promises high-quality entertainment
