Since its inception in 2005, Sounds From The Other City has been a prominent underground music festival that celebrates the vibrant beauty of Salford, often overshadowed by Manchester. Every year it brings together passionate local promoters and is adored by true music lovers. So come join us at this illustrious event- you won't be disappointed!
As the creative landscape of Greater Manchester continues to evolve, Sounds From The Other City has become an annual snapshot that captures it all. Each year a collective of promoters arrange an ever-changing line-up in some truly unique locations - pubs, churches, studios, and warehouses along Chapel Street are just a few of many.
The festival has featured a wide range of talent, from James Ferraro and Marina to Alt-J and Slowthai, as well as Hannah Peel and GoGo Penguin. Sounds From The Other City have also had the pleasure of hosting 2017 Mercury Music Prize winner Sampha, BBC Sound of 2018 nominee IAMDDB, and 2019's Black Midi, who were all subsequently nominated for the prestigious award.
Get ready to experience a transformative event of new music, performance, and art at Sounds From The Other City this Bank Holiday Sunday, April 30th, 2023! This year marks the 17th edition.
