Based on the previous five years of Winterruption SK, Big Winter Classic Calgary, and other winter festivals in Edmonton and Western Canada, producer Brent Oliver (Sidetrack Cafe, Foundation Concerts, UP+DT Festival) is excited to launch Winterruption YEG. He hopes this festival will offer a unique experience by connecting with local arts communities while sharing talent and resources across all participating partners.

The winter arts festival's goal is to bring together people of all backgrounds and ages, with event prices ranging from free to just $49 for a weekend wristband. Winterruption is committed to ensuring that each show provides a safe and inclusive environment for attendees, creating an opportunity for everyone - regardless of gender, sexuality, age, or culture - to experience the beauty of art in its snowy setting. Winterruption programming will be diverse and embrace multiple genres; there will indeed be something for everyone!
