The Almonte Celtfest is a fun weekend event that combines Ottawa Valley with Celtic music. It takes place in Almonte's Gemmill Park's natural amphitheater. The event provides an opportunity to experience the region's traditional Celtic customs as presented by local artists, as well as a select group of distinctive artisans and dealers of specialty goods with a Celtic flair. Donations can be made at the gate by visitors.

In 1997, Almonte Celtfest was started by Brian and Dan O'Connell and Terry Currie, who wanted to preserve their love for Celtic heritage and share it with the community. The Ottawa Valley has a rich tradition of fiddling and step-dancing passed down through generations. Celtic music is still prevalent in kitchens, pubs, and churches, as Brian O'Connell said. During the 90s, there was a resurgence of Celtic music, represented by performances like Riverdance. The festival organizer noticed the abundance of local talent and decided to create an event that would celebrate the Celtic heritage and promote the local music scene over a weekend.

Almonte Celtfest's purpose is to honor and promote the Ottawa Valley's Celtic history through music and dancing that everyone can enjoy. The festival also serves as a showcase for developing community performers. The festival features a variety of Celtic-themed entertainers and businesses, as well as free entertainment. In addition, there is a special space for the elderly, entertainment for youngsters, and food and drinks for everyone.
