Lawnya Vawnya serves as an arts organization established in 2010 in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The objective is to present multidisciplinary and collaborative artistic experiences that center on new independent music. In spring 2011, they launched their multi-day music and art festival in downtown St. John's.
The purpose of Lawnya Vawnya is to promote and highlight the rich music and arts scene in Newfoundland and Labrador and to increase its recognition nationally and internationally. The festival's name originates from a traditional Newfoundland phrase that means having a fun time at a social gathering with ample food. The event by the sea is enjoyable. It will feature performances by confirmed musicians such as Cakes Da Killa, Bria, Cecile Believe, Aquakulture, and others.
