Over two decades ago, Milton Harkey had a revolutionary vision for the state of North Carolina: an incomparable bluegrass festival featuring some of the greatest singers and musicians in the industry. As he recalled, it all began when he stepped out onto his porch in Asheville: "I looked across my city and thought to myself, 'We should have something like this here.' There wasn't any then!" Inspired by that moment, Bluegrass First Class was born.

Since its early beginnings in 1996, Bluegrass First Class has welcomed a parade of world-famous acts to their stage and dazzled music lovers with breathtaking performances. Knowing that their crowd wanted only the best, they eliminated any "filler bands" or lesser-known artists from the lineup. In no time, word had spread across Asheville: if you want an incredible show with noteworthy national acts, then come experience Bluegrass First Class! It's no wonder why this strategy was so successful.

Harkey himself has organized a band workshop for aspiring and experienced bluegrass enthusiasts, providing two incredible stages full of unforgettable performances. But what sets this festival apart from your typical summertime events is its unique winter setting, bringing everyone together in an intimate environment to revel in all things bluegrass! This truly will be a first-class experience with plenty of opportunities to brush shoulders with fellow pickers.

If you want to experience the authentic beauty of Bluegrass music in its true form, join many other bluegrass aficionados at Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville, NC, on February 16-18, 2024. Here is your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness Bluegrass First Class first-hand and see why people come back for more!
