The secret to any successful festival is providing guests with an unforgettable experience. Chuck Wentworth captured this sentiment with Rhythm & Roots Festival in Charlestown, Rhode Island, and has become renowned for his behind-the-scenes magic that ensures their longevity. In 1998, Wentworth teamed up with the founder of the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival to make Rhythm & Roots Festival a reality. This festival then moved to Ninigret Park, which spans 227 acres and continues active more than two decades later! This family-oriented occasion offers fantastic musical talent and provides overnight camping so you can get your fill of entertainment for days on end.

Rhythm & Roots Festival is Rhode Island's premier live music festival, offering an unparalleled experience. It presents over two dozen artists performing a multitude of genres, including Zydeco, delta blues, swamp pop, Celtic Cajun rockabilly, and honky-tonk across four stages. Plant yourself in front of each step and be prepared to jam all day long because you will surely stumble upon tunes that will become your new favorite. There is also a Kids Cajun Music Camp, where children learn how to handle instruments such as the guitar, accordion, and mandolin - culminating in a fantastic concert performed for their parents and teachers!

In addition to the Rhythm & Roots Festival's incredible music lineup, Ninigret Park boasts many outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, fishing, and bird-watching. The park also includes family-friendly features such as a playground for kids, bike trails, basketball courts, and an expansive beach perfect for basking in the sun. Head to Frosty Drew Observatory and Nature Center to gain even more in-depth knowledge about aquatic habitats, wildlife, and the solar system. And for some authentic nature exploration experience, take a stroll through Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge's four miles' worth of hiking trails. You'll be able to capture gorgeous views of Rhode Island's most extensive coastal salt pond at Ninigret Pond!
