Kilgore Station Bluegrass Festival is an annual family-friendly bluegrass concert in an idyllic outdoor setting sponsored by the Cross Plains Community Chamber. This special event began in 2013 and has since expanded to feature exciting attractions such as the Dan Kelly Junior Fiddle Contest and an authentic barn dance.
On May 19-20, 2023, Kilgore Station Bluegrass Festival will take place for two days celebration of music and culture at the historic Kilgore Park in Cross Plains. The festival is named after Thomas Kilgore, an 18th-century pioneer who settled in Robertson County and eventually established the town of Cross Plains. Join in the fun of experiencing this remarkable place with its rich history that returns to one man's courage and determination.
The festival will launch with the Dan Kelly Junior Fiddle Contest on Friday night, now featuring four categories: fiddle, guitar, banjo, and mandolin. Afterward is a barn dance for everyone to enjoy- no square dancing experience required! A professional caller will guide them through traditional dances while a live fiddle band plays in the background.
The celebration will be in full swing on Saturday, with live bluegrass music playing all day. This annual festival showcases favorite local and regional bluegrass acts such as Clearview, Ridgetop Ramblers, Classy, and Grassy - plus many more who come to join the festivities!
