Every year, the Head in the Clouds Festival transforms into an exciting celebration of music and culture! As organized by 88rising, this star-studded event showcases talented musicians across Asia to the world. Take advantage of one of this year's most sought-after events--Head in the Clouds New York!
In 2015, Jaeson Ma and Sean Miyashiro established 88rising as a music collective representing artists from the Asian diaspora. Over time, they began to manage an exclusive selection of Asian rappers dedicated to creating a hip-hop collective. The Higher Brothers first wowed audiences in 2017 at a live performance in Los Angeles, featuring Rich Brian, Joji, and Keith Ape performing alongside the collective streaming from Chengdu. Their immense success on this tour inspired them to continue their journey with the Double Happiness Tour later that year, showcasing just how much appetite there is for Asian rap performances across America.
In 2023, 88rising announces its groundbreaking Head In The Clouds music festival will be expanding to North America for the first time. This 2-day celebration is making a stop at the historic Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, in May - just in time to commemorate the centennial anniversary of this illustrious venue! This May marks a remarkable time for the AAPI community, as Head In The Clouds New York will be one of the biggest celebrations honoring Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month happening across America.
Previously, Head in the Clouds Festival showcased an international lineup of incredible artists, including Atarashii Gakko, Jackson Wang, Rich Brian, EaJ, Bibi, Warren Hue, Kinjaz, Chungha, Dabin, Milli, and Mxmtoon from America as well as Yeek and Raveena from Australia. Additionally, legendary acts such as Dumbfoundead also stepped onto the stage. It was indeed a weekend to remember.
