The 4th Annual Capital City Blues Festival is proud to introduce the R&B sensation and beloved entertainer, Tucka. Hailing from Louisiana, this renowned singer-songwriter first caught audiences' eyes in 2007 as he performed alongside Keith Frank & The Soieau Zydeco Band. Since then, Tucka has earned himself a stellar reputation as the "king of swing," with his chart-topping tracks such as "Pillow Talk," "Candyland, "Work It Out," and most recently, "Till the Sun Comes Up." Calvin Richardson will be a show-stopper. His fame as the "prince of the soul" started with his debut album Country Boy in 1999. Since then, it has been gaining notoriety ever since! The Grammy-nominated singer's seven other albums have earned him much praise, such as 2:35 PM, When Love Comes, Facts of Life: The Soul of Bobby Womack, and America's Most Wanted, which all made it onto the charts. The evening promises to sizzle with the hits of Pokey Bear, including "My Sidepiece," "They Call Me Pokey," and two more. His combination of James Brown-style soul blended with modern R&B is remarkable. After years performing as part of Louisiana Blues Brothers, in 2014, he released his first solo album Josephine Son Pokey which showcased scintillating dance tracks like "They Call Me Pokey," "Gingerbread Man," and "Mr. Hit It and Quit It."
