An array of two and three generations come together with their friends and family to experience the culture showcased by over forty international, national, and local acts. They join in on the festivities through music dances while indulging in various food options and children's activities that create a truly magical atmosphere!In 1978, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival was launched in Stanley Park. The following year, it relocated to Jericho Beach Park and began receiving sponsorship from the city. In late 1979, a non-profit organization called the Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society assumed control over the management of this event. During its early years of operating under this new system, it released recordings through its own record label, "Festival Records."For decades, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival has been instrumental in cultivating artists and connecting them with their audiences from all over the world. The community is dedicated to preserving traditional values while ensuring that new voices are always heard.
