This summer marks the 8th annual Cottingham Folk Festival, the traditional vibrancy of folk music. This festival takes place across a blissful August Bank Holiday Weekend right at the heart of quaint and picturesque Cottingham village in East Yorkshire.
Sitting midway between Hull - the UK City of Culture in 2017 - and Beverley, an old market town, Cottingham is reportedly England's largest village.
Cottingham Folk Festival's mission is to introduce emerging and renowned artists alike to the cozy environment of a small village hall. As this festival is independent, it can provide unique performances that you won't find elsewhere!
Since its inception in 2015, the Cottingham Folk Festival has welcomed a variety of performers such as Wilko Johnson, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, New Model Army, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Ferocious Dog, Roddy Woomble, The Unthanks, Terrorvision, Holy Moly and the Crackers, Eliza Carthy, Scouting For Girls, Frank Turner, Newton Faulkner, The Shires, Badly Drawn Boy, Ward Thomas, Judy Collins, The Wandering Hearts, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, The Magic Numbers, Will Varley, This Is The Kit, Seth Lakeman, Chas & Dave, Skinny Lister, Nerina Pallot, Elles Bailey, Roland Gift, Lucy Spraggan, Chantel McGregor, The Dunwells, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Judie Tzuke, Lucy Rose, Toyah, and many other talented performers.
