Festival de Confolens

The Festival de Confolens, also known as the Confolens Festival of Popular Arts and Traditions of the World, is a well-known folklore event that showcases music, songs, dances, and standard practices from all five continents. It is held annually during the first week of August in Confolens, a charming tiny village in the Charente.

The Festival de Confolens, annually since 1957, draws 150,000 guests every summer in August. Every boundary is removed for a week, leaving only color, emotion, and sharing. Three hundred fifty volunteers helped to put up shows that featured the arts and popular customs of several nations, which featured about 600 artists from all five continents. The town center is ablaze with the rhythms of folk music and dancing thanks to a deft blending of various cultures.
