Every year, the Gem and Jam Festival coincides with the renowned Tucson Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Showcase for a weekend of perfect harmony between music and art. The Gem and Jam Festival, held in Tucson, AZ, annually for three weeks, draws over 55,000 adventurers from everywhere. Gem and jam debuted in 2005 as an afterparty for the Showcase, soon developing to become an entire festival beyond Tucson's live music venues. By 2013, Gem and Jam had become a fully-formed enterprise with the help of private investors. After taking a break in 2019, it returned as one of the few festivals before COVID-19 struck America just weeks later.
