Inazuma Rock Fes is one of the largest festivals in western Japan, occurring every September on the beautiful lake shores of Lake Biwa in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Since 2009 this incredible outdoor music event (lovingly referred to as "IRF," "Ina Fes," or just "Inazuma") has been held across three days and nights, including Respect for the Aged Day and Autumnal Equinox Day. It makes the festival a memorable experience for not only Takanori Nishikawa fans!
At the Inazuma Rock Fes, there is a paid main stage and a free area with many exciting attractions. The live set features up-and-coming artists hoping to enter the main scene. There are also local character performances, gourmet food using fresh ingredients from around town, booths promoting nearby tourist destinations, and even activities for kids! You don't need an expensive ticket to have fun - it's an all-day event that everyone can enjoy!
Tourists from all across the nation come to the city in large numbers due to its musical events. This attendee has had a tremendous economic effect on the area, with numerous accommodations and PR for regional tourist attractions benefitting greatly. Consequently, this phenomenon is being noted by tourism officials to increase such advantages further.
Last year, the Inazuma Rock Fes was further adorned by the presence of Shuugo Nakamura, Daichi Kanbara, Kento Hama, Yutaka Balletta, Yuya Nakada, Shouya Chiba, Hiroshi Watanabe, Toshinari Fukamachi, Takeaki Masuyama, Kento Itou Yoshiki Nakajima, and Daiki Hamano.
