Laneway Festival Sydney

The St. Jerome's Laneway Festival (or "Laneway") first occurred in Melbourne, Australia's Caledonian Lane, in 2005. It was a small-scale independent music festival. However, due to its growing popularity over the years, it has extended its reach from five cities across Australia - Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Fremantle- to two more countries, Auckland, New Zealand, and Singapore!

It started with the St. Jerome's Summer Series, a regular Sunday event created and hosted by Jerome Borazio and Danny Rogers to expose undiscovered talent like The Presets and Architecture in Helsinki. It would later become known as the renowned St. Jerome's Laneway Festival! To further the enjoyment of their patrons, they added a regular Saturday night event called "Brains," with The Avalanches as its residency. Borazio and Rogers subsequently persuaded The Avalanches that it was viable for them to block off the lane, remove the bins, and create an alleyway celebration. After adding promotional items and other acts, St. Jerome's Laneway Festival officially commenced!

In 2005, after the overwhelming response of 1,400 people at the inaugural Laneway Festival, the organizer announced they were expanding to Sydney.

Now get ready to mark your calendars because Laneway Festival is coming back in February 2023. After years of anticipation, Laneway Festival finally announced its return in 2023, with events taking place on Sunday, February 5th, at the renowned Sydney Showground! Get ready for an unforgettable day out filled with music and entertainment sure to surpass all expectations.

Furthermore, the lineup of this show is stellar and features top-tier talent. Finneas, Fontaines DC, Fred again... Girl in Red, Slowthai, and Turnstile are all on the bill, with 100 Gets, Chaos in the CBD., Knucks, and Mallrat rounding out an already exciting lineup. Take your chance to see them perform live!

Without a doubt, there are countless reasons to get enthusiastic! The list goes on from experiencing HAIM's first Australian tour since Alana starred in Licorice Pizza in 2017 to catching Bridgers' comeback after an impressive number of successes. Remember that Laneway is also finally back, making late summer all the more exciting and vibrant.
