LAUTFEUER Festival

Annually, thousands of individuals convene in the meadow of the historic nuclear power plant located in Lingen for the LAUTFEUER Festival, a festivity that has been organized voluntarily by Abifestival since 1981 and is one-of-a-kind as admission is free, making it an integral part of North Germany's event calendar for over 40 years! Around 300 volunteers ensure everyone can indulge in art and culture, regardless of their financial capabilities. This socially responsible project stands in defiance of expensive ticket prices at other large-scale festivals. This year, the event is drawing a line against environmental impact by using green hydrogen as part of its electricity generation, making it one of the first festivals to do so on such a grand scale!
