To commemorate the marriage of Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard in 1937, a king lime tree was planted on the outskirts of Megen's historic core. This lush "Lulboom" soon became renowned as a gathering place for young and old alike, who enjoyed its scenic spot while having intimate conversations. For years to come, this treasured tree served as an emblem representing Megen's vibrant community spirit.
In 2011, Kwoaje Keie carnival association and Terras FF Zitte operators pioneered the first edition of the Lulboompop Festival. Now known for its diverse programs, it has been continually organized by CLM foundation volunteers since then. With their dedication to Lulboompop Festival, these passionate individuals have helped bring this unique festival to life!
This year, Lulboompop Festival will take place on June 23rd and 24th under the Megense Lulboom. This upcoming event will feature an exceptional lineup of talented artists, spectacular music, and a captivating stage design with tasteful decorations that take your breath away.
