The Lytham Festival (formerly the Lytham Proms) is a five-day music celebration held annually in Lancashire's historic town of Lytham St Annes. This event has flourished from its initial one-night performance to an extraordinary five-day concert extravaganza, drawing more than 70,000 people each summer and continuously growing every year.
On the picturesque banks of Lancashire's Ribble Estuary, friends Daniel Cuffe and Peter Taylor created a festival with dreams far exceeding its original plans. What began as a one-night event in Leafy Lytham has now become an integral part of the national music scene. Fans from all corners of the nation and even overseas make their way to join this awe-inspiring celebration every year!
Nearly a decade ago, only 4,500 locals gathered to watch the renowned soprano Lesley Garrett perform at Lytham Proms. However, in 2011, this popular event grew into one of three days with two exceptional headliners - Status Quo and Boyzone - plus another proms concert by Katherine Jenkins. As its fame increased over time, it expanded to five days and was appropriately renamed Lytham Festival in 2015.
The headliners have been phenomenal, from Billy Ocean and Tom Jones to Bryan Adams, Hacienda Classical, and Nile Rodgers & CHIC! Additionally, Proms-style picnics featuring classical music royalty such as Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, and Michael Ball provide a truly unforgettable experience. Other celebrated performers include Sheridan Smith, Alfie Boe, Collabro, and Jodie Prenger - all of whom continue to bring joy with their incredible musical talent.
2019 was a landmark year for headline shows, with the likes of Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, and Stereophonics gracing the stages.
2022 was an excellent year for music lovers, with a limited-time showcase of 30+ remarkable artists - from Diana Ross to Elbow. Snow Patrol, The Strokes, Lewis Capaldi, and Duran Duran were just some performers that captivated audiences over ten unforgettable nights. Tears For Fears, Simply Red, and Paul Weller added their unmistakable sounds to this incredible lineup, along with Nile Rodgers & Chic!
In summer 2023, Lytham Green will be ablaze with vibrant energy and music as five nights of live entertainment take over the tranquil beauty spot. Dog walkers, kite flyers, and family picnickers become part of a 20,000-strong crowd enjoying artists worldwide - creating an extraordinary atmosphere that beckons attendees each year!
