The term "Metal Diver" was derived from Ronnie James Dio's iconic debut album, "Holy Diver," as a reminder to explore the depths of music. Metal Diver e.V., a non-profit association based in Marsberg, is devoted to preserving culture and history in Eastern Sauerland while lending support to smaller independent bands.

These days, it's hard to come by traditional Heavy Metal festivals where the real talent shines through. Most events focus too much on covers and current trends that crowd out true metalheads.
