Moccasin Creek Festival

Every year, the Moccasin Creek Festival provides four days of music and entertainment along the banks of beautiful Lake Sara in Effingham, Illinois. This lake was carefully crafted by merging five creeks that run through the basin – one of them being named Moccasin Creek after Griffin Tipsword spotted moccasins near its edge during a survey he conducted all those years ago in the 1850s!

Bill (Poss) Passalacqua, a native of Effingham and the founder of the Moccasin Creek Festival, has devoted his life to music writing, performing, and promoting. His family was born from musical roots - with three brothers pursuing their father Larry's footsteps in folk, bluegrass, alt-country, rock & blues - it is this unique fusion that Moccasin Creek Festival celebrates. Picture an idyllic hickory grove beside a lake bathed beneath the summer sun for a soul-stirring "Americana" melody... that's what this festival is about!

When you join the festival, rest assured that all your needs will be handled! On-site, there will be delicious food and drinks for purchase. Kids can also enjoy various activities and shows throughout the day. Camping is conveniently located next door to the venue, with available cabins. Take the chance of being near some beautiful scenery, and there's a free beach close by along with a disc golf course nearby. If you want to venture further out, there's also a golf course up the road. There are boats, kayaks, and canoes for rental should you decide upon water activities instead.

The Moccasin Creek Festival is coming to Effingham, Illinois! On June 22th-25th, 2023, audiences will be mesmerized by spectacular musical performances on the Stage at Lake Sara.
