Rootsfestivalen

From July 12th to 15th, 2023, join the crowds in the center of Brønnøysund for four days packed with music and culture! Don't miss out on free concerts in tents as well as night-time performances at its outdoor stage featuring various local, regional, national, and international artists.

Since 2001, Rootsfestivalen has brought a wealth of Norwegian and international artists to the quaint city of Brønnøysund every summer. The festival was initially started by Ragnvald Paulsen before being taken over in 2004 by the Kulturcompagniet foundation. Normally, performances occurred either in a large tent during the day or on Tørrfiskbrygga in the evening. As of 2013, all shows outdoor feature stages or tents are located right within Brønnøysund's bustling center!

As Rootsfestival continues to expand, it has continually strived for a more inclusive and accessible atmosphere. It's an event that is so much more than just music. There are also delicious food selections available, as well as exciting concerts, theater productions, and films that appeal to all age groups. No matter what your interests may be, Rootsfestival offers something for everyone!
