Every year, Ruisrock hosts an unforgettable rock festival on the island of Ruissalo in Finland. Established in 1970, it is considered Europe’s second oldest rock festival (after Pinkpop) and the oldest one held in Finland! The festival grounds are separated into two distinct areas, the Niittyalue ("meadow") and Ranta-alue ("beachfront").
Over its lifetime, the festival has become a world-renowned destination for international artists. In 2009, the festival was headlined by international acts, including Slipknot, Disturbed, Faith No More, and Mew, as well as famous Finnish artists such as Children of Bodom, HIM, Eppu Normaali, and Tehosekoitin.
