Vorstadt Sound Festival

The inaugural Vorstadt Sound Festival was created in 2016 by a group of dedicated young volunteers as part of the youth program held at their local church in Erlangen. With the motto "From young people for young people," they hosted this unique event at Aurachsaal within the Frauenaurach district, offering attendees an unforgettable experience full of music and fun with youthful energy and vivacity!

After three subsequent editions, a live-streaming edition canceled at the last minute in 2020, and an adjusted streaming event in 2021 at Bräuningshof near Erlangen, this project has ballooned beyond its limits. Backline Kultur e.V., newly established for such purposes, assumed control over the Vorstadt Sound Festival brand and the project itself. Initially created with youth in mind, it's now reestablishing precedents across generations!

This year, the Vorstadt Sound Festival will take place for two full days on June 16th and 17th, with local talents and eminent international acts. By providing a unique family and children's program hosted by the cooperation partner Erlebnisbauernhof Schmitt (Schäferhof) on Saturday morning, this festival hopes to foster an environment that stays connected to its roots while promoting the young band scene.
